CHRISCOM: Evangelism and Care of
the needy in Uganda

Christian Concern Ministry
(CHRISCOM) is a
faith based Christian
organization, aimed at doing evangelism through charity activities like
helping orphans, prisoners, patients and other vulnerable groups of
people in rural set ups. It started in 2004 and became
registered in 2006.
You can effectively reach and minister unto the needy in Uganda or
Africa through Christian Concern Ministry.
CHRISCOM was started by Pastor Sebalamu Shem and his wife, Rebecca,
with a major aim of helping the needy. Shem lost both his parents at a
tender age and he was brought up by other people.
This exposed him to the real life the needy orphans and other
vulnerable groups face. When he grew up, he became a health worker, who
is now working in Kagadi Hospital. This also exposed him further to the
suffering of needy patients.
He further developed the spirit from the teaching of our lord Jesus
Christ in Mathew 25:35-40
“for
I was hungry and you
gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to
drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you
clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you
came to visit me." Reflecting on all this and
the situation of the
people in our area Uganda, CHRISCOM was started.
What CHRISCOM Does
The main activities of CHRISCOM:
• The main activity of Chriscom
is to carry out evangelism
• We carry out regular prison
outreaches where we take items like fruits, bananas and clothes to
the
inmates
• We visit health facilities
like hospitals, clinics and health centers with similar items
• We also visit schools
especially primary schools and give out exercise books, pencils and
pens
to the registered orphans
• We present radio programs
aimed at mobilizing people on the need to help the needy, to campaign against chid abuse, human sacrifice, and domestic violence
• We carry out
guidance and counseling on people with problems like HIV/AIDS and
divorce.
This is done through video shows and
biblical teaching. We do
this at our office premises.
Charity and
Evangelism
CHRISCOM
Charity:
Boxes are placed in different churches where people
donate items like clothing, bed sheets, shoes, bags, books, which are
distributed by CHRISCOM outreach members to the needy. Apart from
clothing we also collect fruits, soap, toothpaste, and sanitary items,
which we distribute to the inmates and needy patients.
Personnel:
Chriscom personnel include volunteers from different churches who help
in carrying out medical care to the orphans and
other vulnerable groups. We have one outstanding clinic in Uganda; it
is called Clinic Center Kagadi. This clinic has ben helping in giving
free medical care to our orphans. |

Chriscom is not a church. We do ministries and activities
involving the
church, but Chriscom is simply a ministry made to help. Chriscom does
help in planting churches, which are later handed over to other
ministries.
